Work

Sitting at work waiting for last minute people to do their thing. Not too terribly upset as I don't have to be anywhere until 6:30 but you never know around here. It's also been a few weeks since I've had to stay late. It seems to not be the norm much any more.

We will be moving to a new location on January 17. Not much looking forward to it as the office doesn't seem very well planned. My giant copy machine will be in a file room with no work space, which is crazy since everything I do is in multiples. And my office is way down the hall from where I will actually do 95% of my job. Ah well, will have to wait until I get there to see how it will work out.

The drive will also be much longer, on the interstate, with traffic galore. I leave at 7am now to drive 13 miles. It's going to such FUN when it takes 2 hours to drive 20!

But it's a job and right now I need to keep working for another 3 1/2 years until I can retire, collect my social security and get on Medicare. It is very weird to think that in just that short of a time, I will be at retirement age. I don't feel close to retirement, look it maybe, but my mind's eye still has me looking like I did at 35. Then of course, I look in the mirror and my real eyes see the woman with wrinkles and age spots. Oh, my goodness, that's me! Yep, reality sucks.

But there is an up side to getting older. I get to be a Grandma, which is like heaven on earth, and when retirement hits, you don't have to work for someone you don't really like...a retiree's hope, that and staying healthy enough to enjoy retirement!

So, I thought I would post while waiting and waiting for people who have no clue how to schedule their work load. God bless 'em.
