Decided I need to work for 3 1/2 more years not 1/2 as previously desired. 62 seemed to be the golden age to me but found out Medicare doesn't kick in until 65. Taking a pay decrease in social security didn't sound too bad until I figured in about $500 going out for insurance. There was a day when I was younger that insurance wasn't a priority for me, but as I get older, I realize it's importance. Though I am healthy, all checked out to be sure, one never knows when the future holds as we age. So off I go with all the other rats into the maze for hopefully only 3 1/2 more years.
My plans to keep busy after retirement are mainly three: Laina,
Addison, BellyBean (name in question until gender confirmed.) Of course, there will be scrapbooking and Girl scouts. I don't see myself giving up either. Also my latest venture into the creative: painting. Right now that comes in the form of Painting with a Twist, but once I'm settled into my house properly, I'll try it on my own. We'll see how that goes!
Would like to continue with photography. That comes in spurts. I'm always taking pictures but every now and then I get the urge to be artsy with it.
I went to a fabulous exhibit last Thursday evening at LASM in Baton Rouge...Arthur Drooker. He has taken black and white infrared photographs of ruins in the United States and published a book. I bought the book and he autographed it. It is so beautiful. He inspired me to grab my camera to go and shoot.

Now all I need to do is live long and healthy enough to enjoy it. Until then I work, live in today, earn, try to save and patiently wait for old age.
