TOO COMPUTER DEPENDENT

Monday while babysitting for Cooper, I was working on my computer. Whatever I was doing on the Internet gave my computer a virus. I went into a panic when all of my personal stuff disappeared from my computer! I was so distressed! I was on the verge of tears but looking at and holding Cooper helped me realize it was a big deal to lose my data, but not the end of my world.
I took my computer straight to Best Buy Hammond, paid $200 to the Geek Squad, and prayed to the computer gods that the Geek tech could recover my data. He told me it would be ready maybe on Saturday. I left my baby with him and drove home to do my Girl Scout meeting. Thank goodness I had prepared on Friday by printing out all of the paperwork I needed.
I babysat for Mr. Cooper again today so on the happenstance my computer might be fixed, I went to Best Buy. Lo and behold, it was ready and ALL OF MY DATA WAS RECOVERED! I was so excited, I leaned over the counter and hugged the guy!
Even though I spent a ridiculous amount of money, I have all the pictures of the grand kids, all my Girl Scout records, personal info, poetry, everything! A newer and better spy ware program was installed, so I should be good to go. Hope so because $200 doesn't come easy for the unemployed!
I felt so lost without my computer, even tho it was for only a few days. I came to realize that I am way too computer dependent! It's like the cell phone...life without technology is weird, even though I am not completely tech savvy!
This is why I am journaling right now. I had to celebrate with a blog!
