4TH OF JULY WEEKEND

I have a three-day weekend and very excited by that. I set a goal for this weekend...to empty out as much of the POD as humanly possible in the heat. I've been rising at dawn to unload before the 90+ degree heat sets in. It is around 80* in the mornings, but before the sun comes out in full force, it's bearable. I unload onto the back porch until my arms can't lift anymore and my body sweat leaves stains on the boxes I carry. Then it is into a cool shower and coffee. It is very daunting to look into the POD to see so much still to be unloaded. I made the comment on facebook that it multiplies like rabbits. I thought I had the POD nearly empty, but lo and behold, there are boxes and boxes and boxes and boxes and a couple of big pieces of furniture. Oh well, perseverance and determination will see me through. I am hoping to have everything out before I have to pay another month's rental. We shall see. If I can get up early every weekend morning and work for an hour or hour and a half, I just may get this done. I will need help with the big furniture or I'll just use the dolly are work and haul the pieces onto the back porch and let it sit until I can get assistance to get it up the stairs into the house. Right now I have the boxes that I've unloaded on the back porch, so all that stuff needs to find a place in my house. I don't know where I'm going to put everything. There may be more Goodwill runs in my future. If I had a storage shed I would feel better about keeping some of the stuff, but the rundown sheds that dad have built are way at the back of the property and not well insulated etc. Once I have dad and mom's old house torn down, I'll put a storage shed on the slab where their house stands. That is way in the future tho, so for now I have to get rid of what I don't have room for.

Yesterday after my dawn-unload, I started working in the air conditioned house. I am trying to organize my scrapbook room which has stuff all over it as when I scrap, I just push through to find what I need. I made some headway before Vil and Joanie came over, then later Lynn. Vil cooked steaks on my new little grill and Joanie made this amazing pasta dish. Vil's friend Kevin came by to eat with us, then Vil and Kev left to hunt for boudain and possible future boat landings for their photographic excursions into the byways of south Louisiana. Joanie, Lynn and I did scrapbooking with a side trip to Memories by Design scrapbook store in Denham Springs for specialty paper for Lynn. Of course, it turned into a shopping trip for all three of us. There was a New2U Sale so we really got good bargains. I returned to Laina's book. I only did a double page layout, but it turned out really cute. It takes me a couple of hours to do a good double from start to finish. Later today I'll continue that effort. I also have to start on Addison's so once I have worked more in the scrapbook room, I'll use down time to do scrapbooking. And soon there will be one for Cooper to fill!

Enough said about my busy work for the three-day weekend. I may try to see the Clay Shuffs tonight as I really miss those four. Niki and Josh, and of course Cooper who at this point has no choice in the matter, are in Houston at Ron and Tonya's for the long weekend. Clay and Jenn had to work, so they are home bound.

So I've been production. Let's see if I can continue in that vein. As I've said before, I am so easily distracted.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY USA
