HOME IS WHERE MY HEART IS

Haven't had time to blog in a while. It's been moving at home, moving at work, working, Girl Scouts~~caroling event, Junior Bronze advisor, cookie rally coordinator with the Juniors, the lock in for 150 Girl Scouts and cookies started.

I did spend a wonderful day at the zoo with my family recently when it was a beautiful sunny day after days of rain, dreary skies and cold. Addison spent her day sleeping or eating, mostly sleeping. Laina was busy checking out all of the people, some of the animals and managed a short nap. She enjoyed the ride to and from the zoo because she could watch Yo Gaba Gaba on her new portable DVD player attached to her seat. Ah, the life of a 15 month old is good, eh?

Last week, my baby boy was 24! Wow, that hit me. He has two babies of his own and he's such a fine young man. I am so proud of him. He works so hard to provide his family with a decent living. Jenn is as amazing, juggling school, home and two babies. They are so centered for such young ones.

My little girl will be 26 in April and a mommy in August. Jeez, when did they grow up? Niki's found a wonderful young man who loves her and my Belly Bean. He's also very nice to me, offering to help clean my yard, fix my car, etc. He's a good guy, but guess I shouldn't be saying this on the Internet as it might ruin his cred!

My house is becoming a home. The two spare rooms are full of boxes and there is the POD still in my backyard with stuff. The backyard and the very front yard, have trash to be put in a dumpster, but the weather has been so wet and cold that it's been hard to get another dumpster brought in. All that will be changing soon.

My living room is surreal to me. It has rugs, chairs, end tables, coffee table, sofa...all the things a living room should have in it, even my own art hanging on the walls. I sit on my couch looking at my beautiful home and think, wow, this is mine. For so long it was one room jammed with stuff I needed to exist. Granted, that was of my own doing, but it was the norm for me for so many years. Now, it's like I'm living someone else's life. Crazy, crazy, and I'm loving it.

All in all, I am home and it feels so great! I can have the babies over and not have to worry about mold, mildew or any other nastiness lurking in the carpet or walls. Laina ran from one end of the house to the other when she came over. She is so into movement. Reminds me of a little boy I have! She laughed and ran while I loved every minute of having her and the rest of my family there with me. Joyful joyful.
