BLESSINGS

Slow week so far at work, so I am trying to look busy. Everyone is pretty much out in the field, so I know this is only temporary. Once all the data is brought into the office, it will be a frenzy of activity and I will be too busy to blink. But for now I am enjoying the down time.

Last night I went shopping for light colored pants and wedge sandals for a very special occasion on May 28. I found that I also needed a new bra~~bra shopping is such torture! I tried on two or three dozen and found one that fit, then of course, there is only one in my size. So I have to repeat the process to find one more. Hopefully these will last me for years! That is about how often I shop for a bra. It's too painful to do more than once every three or four years! LOL

Gone are the days when I can wear those cute little frilly things, but of course, I've never been able to get into those little demi-cup things. Wasn't built that way even when I weighed 120 pounds and was young. Though, now I am more into the granny full coverage, totally comfortable, everything "fits" in bras.

Ok enough about underwear....

After my terrible ordeal of bra shopping, I found Carter's (was at the outlet mall). OMG! I could have spent a fortune, but luckily my grand daughters have all the clothes they really need right now, so as I had only bought three things for my grandson, I only bought the girls each three things. But I do intend to frequent Carter's more often. I spent hardly any money on some really adorable clothes and earned a discount coupon in the mix too. Now that was enjoyable shopping.

I am now in wait for Cooper's appearance, my grandson due in mid-August. I am ready for his arrival. I plan to spoil him rotten, then give him back to his mom. This is to make up for all the times she came home spoiled from grandparents or her dad's! HA! Nah, she was a pretty good kid.

I am also looking forward to spending more time with my two precious granddaughters, Laina and Addison.

Laina has two speeds, full throttle and dead stop. She is an entertainer to her very core. Of course, I am her totally captivated audience! I look at pictures of her and they bring a smile to my face no matter what kind of day I am having. She reminds me of Clay at that age, constant motion, discovery and joy of life. She has her momma's pretty face and her daddy's early energy.

Then there is Miss Addison, so sweet-so tiny-so wonderfully adorable. She is beginning to "talk" back when I speak to her. She smiles and has this funny stunted little laugh. It's not quite a laugh but more than a giggle. She is becoming very aware of things around her and watches her big sister while she whirls around in Addison's vicinity. It's so cute!

Being a grandmother is as amazing as being a mother. I never thought life would give me any more joy than the two wonderful children I was given as a blessing 24 ang 26 years ago, but now I will soon have three grandchildren who are so adored by their grandma. God have been good!

In thinking on my blessings, I have had two loving parents, a brother to admire and respect, two wonderful children who have brought into my life happiness unbridled by giving me three sweet grandbabies (with the help of two pretty great partners), fantastic friends who love me in spite of my shortcomings and a sister who is not of my blood but of my heart. What else can anyone want in life! (Maybe enough money to pay the bills, but that's it, really!)
